International Day of Women and Girls in Science
International Day of Women and Girls in Science was an idea generated during the first High-Level World Women's Health and Development Forum organized by the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT) and The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and held on February 11th 2015 at the United Nations Headquarters.
In commemorating the 3rd International Day of Women and Girls in Science it’s been organized a two-days forum (IDWGS-2018) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York which will be from 8 – 9 February 2018, focusing firmly on “Equality and Parity in Science for Peace and Development”.
And, what about UBICS? We are a very young institute and our figures are:
We are not proud of our parity figures, we need more women in our research areas, and we want them in our Institute, so we will dedicate one day to analyze the Gender differences in sciences and in researchers’ areas, mainly focused on the initial stages of the academic career. In collaboration with the “Comissió d’igualtat de la Facultat de Física”.
